Fine Hair - Everything You Need To Know...
It will be no surprise to you, that the foundation to fantastic, easy to manage fine hair is all about the haircut and of course your choice of products.
Every layer needs to be cut to help build the foundations for the perfect shape and precise lines in the haircut will ensure that it’s easy to manage.
Should I have Layered Hair
If fine hair is cut to one length it hair can become flat and difficult to style however, too many layers have the opposite effect and the hair becomes lifeless. Using a combination of graduated or tapered cutting in the layers will give the hair lightness and make it look much fuller.
Should I Wash My Hair Every Day
You may have been told in the past that shampooing daily on fine hair is the wrong thing to do however the opposite is true. Fine hair needs to be washed often to help it from matting or becoming weighed down with oil and dirt.
I am often asked by my fine hair clients whether they should use conditioner nor not because they have a fear of making their hair flat and lank… however many products on the market now include ingredients that help support fine hair and add volume.
My advice is always to use a good quality conditioner for fine hair types without sulphates.
How to Create Fullness on Fine Hair
To create natural volume, apply the styling product at the roots and blow-dry with head turned upside down. I really don’t advise the use of mousse as the soaping agents can make the hair ‘Sticky’ and hard to manage.
Direct the heat from the hairdryer at your roots and then use a round brush to create lift and volume and natural soft movement.
We have created an awesome blow-drying Amplify Root Lift Spray specifically designed for fine hair to give body and hold without stickiness and it’s also really light in the hair.
One of the best products to strengthen fine hair is a product range called Olaplex. It works by rebonding the hair from inside and makes hair look and feel thicker and fuller because the hair has been strengthened,
Which Shampoo Is Best For Fine Hair
Try not to use shampoos with sulphates because although sulphates are a good cleanser they can be drying on the hair because they are too efficient at cleansing! They can also make your head itchy.
You will need a shampoo that contains high-quality ingredients and without any of the nasties.
Our range shampoos and conditioners are naturally free from Sulphates, Parabens, Phthalates, Petrochemicals, Sodium Chloride, MEA, DEA, and Animal Testing.
